  | Going wherever the dogs are. It's time for another Shelter Shoutout! In this edition, we travel to Northbrook, IL to meet the people and pets at Border Tails Rescue. This shelter partners locally with animal rescue services throughout their community, nationally with shelters in other states, and even internationally with facilities in Mexico, Puerto Rico and other underserved areas.

After his wife passed away, Max decided to leave the corporate world for a place where he could make a difference. That place ended up being Border Tail Rescue where Max now runs the volunteer program. Every day, he makes sure there are enough people to help with everything from dog walks to doing the dishes. Max's specialty is working with the animals who come to the shelter with behavioral problems. His patience and kindness with even the hardest cases is why they say:
"Even the dogs who don't love anyone, love Max."
